National Clinical Datasets Development Programme (NCDDP)
The National Clinical Datasets Development Programme (NCDDP) was created to establish a coherent policy towards the definitions and coding necessary for robust and reliable data sharing in NHS Scotland. The NCDDP support team in ISD is responsible for determining that there is consistency between datasets and that individual data items are fit for incorporation into the new Health and Social Car Data Dictionary. It is crucially important that the clinical community agree how to collect and record relevant data items to facilitate data sharing and comparison across and between specialities and clinical domains. Several national datasets are currently being developed in conjunction with the CHD and Stroke Programme. These are facilitated by clinical working groups and include core datasets for both CHD & Stroke.
If you require any further information about these standards, or the work of the National Clinical Dataset Development Programme further information on the programme is available from http://www.show.scot.nhs.uk/clinicaldatasets or please do not hesitate to contact us.
