Primary Medical Services - 17C Agreements

Background

The Primary Medical Services (Scotland) Act 2004 provides the primary legislative basis for the changes which will be introduced. New Regulations (and other legislative mechanisms) will provide the detailed legislative framework for Section 17C agreements as one component of the arrangements for the new NHS Board duty to provide Primary Medical Services.

Our intention is to promote maximum flexibility in the development of Section 17C agreements (within the broader context of the implementation of nGMS and other Primary Medical Services contractual forms), tailored to local circumstances and with bureaucracy kept to a minimum.
