The Scottish Health Survey 1998: Volume 1

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS

Our first thank you is to the men, women and children who took part in the 1998 Scottish Health Survey. This national study relied entirely on their voluntary participation.

Equal thanks are due to the interviewers, nurses, fieldwork, data processing, computing and research colleagues who worked tirelessly to ensure a successful survey. Thank you, too, to the Survey Doctor, James Repper, and to staff at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, at the Institute of Food Research, Norwich and at the Nicotine Laboratory, New Cross for their processing and analyses of blood and saliva samples.

We would like to acknowledge fully the contributions of all the report's authors and those who worked on the presentation, printing and publication of the report.

Finally, special thanks are due to Anne Corbett and her colleagues in the Scottish Executive for their continuing support throughout this lengthy project.
