The Mental Health and Well Being Support Group was formed on 31st March 2000 to support, influence and help the care agencies advance the strategic development of mental health services in Scotland. Visits to all relevant agencies and close involvement of service users and carers informed this process.
With the attention and focus properly moving to the preparation planning and delivery of the new Mental Health Act and the establishment of the Joint Local Implementation Network the The Mental Health and Wellbeing Support Group was effectively wound up. However their work, reports and in many cases the former members, continue to inform the improvement of mental health and the delivery of services in Scotland.
