NHSSCOTLAND ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE

ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE POLICY STATEMENT

Summary

1. This Circular announces the continued application of the Trust Reconfiguration Organisational Change Policy Statement in NHS MEL(1999)7 as extended by NHS MEL(2000)22 to cover all organisational change in NHSScotland. The decision to continue the application of this Policy Statement has been agreed with the Scottish Partnership Forum.

Action

2. Chief Executives of Health Boards, Special Health Boards and Trusts as well as Area and Local Partnership Forums are required to operate within this Statement and to take forward the management of change in partnership, ensuring the full engagement of staff in planning and implementing the modernisation of NHSScotland.

Review of the Policy Statement

3. This Policy Statement will be regularly reviewed by the Scottish Partnership Forum. Such a review is currently under way. In the meantime any major disputes of interpretation arising out of the Organisational Change Policy Statement should be raised direct with that Forum.
