From here we will provide you with the most up-to-date information we have on any aspect of Patient Focus and Public Involvement. These will only be short summaries but will provide links for further information. We aim to update this at least once a week. Also there will be a permanent feature of newly added sections of the site - there is nothing more annoying than being told when a site was last updated but then being unable to find any of the updates.

| Building Strong Foundations | ||
|
At the Building Strong Foundations event held on 3rd May 2002 in Glasgow the Minister for Health and Community Care, Malcolm Chisholm MSP, launched the Building Strong Foundations toolkit and the Involving People website. Patient Focus and Public Involvement committed the Scottish Executive to produce a toolkit of public involvement methodologies. To find out more about the toolkit or to request a copy please click here. The Minister also launched the Involving People website
at this event. We hope the site will become a central resource for people
looking to Involve People as well as those with a general interest.
The site is still in it's infancy but we have big plans for it - in
no small part due to the toolkit and providing information on work which
is taking place throughout Scotland. Please look around the site and
if you do have any comments please Email
us.

| Forthcoming Training | ||
|
To facilitate the implementation of the Patient Focus and Public Involvement framework into NHSScotland we are going to provide training. This training will take the form of one or two day seminars and will be provided free of charge. At the moment we have several different courses planned for 2002 ranging from generic overviews to more specific training for 'lay' people on committees. We are also putting together a two-day elective training course where delegates will be able to pick and choose the aspects they are interested in learning more about - information on this course will follow soon. PLEASE NOTE - we currently have scheduled two training dates for Story-Dialogue: Beyond the Anecdote in May. There is a possibility that these may have to be postponed. For those of you who have applied for these courses we will be in touch very soon. To read more about the training we will be offering in 2002 please click here. |
