INVOLVING PEOPLE NETWORK

One of the commitments set out in Patient Focus and Public Involvement is the establishment of "a network of staff and public engaged in public involvement by March 2002" (Patient Focus and Public Involvement page 12)

This group had their first meeting in March 2002.

Aims of the Network

  • To facilitate communication for all those working in involving people whether NHS service users, related voluntary organisations or NHS Professional.
  • To encourage practice development and promote best practice.
  • To share learning on involving people across all boundaries.
  • To facilitate peer support across all boundaries.
  • To assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation tools.
  • To identify and promote the added value to services where involving people is used as a quality measure.

The Network is in the process of establishing a database of people who are interested in developing patient focus and user participation within NHS Scotland. If you are one of them, please click here for a network membership form.
