Description
The Public Health Review was announced in November 2014 and the review has subsequently been taken forward by a Review Group and has involved cross-sector engagement. This is the final report from the Review Group published in February 2016 with a Ministerial foreword by the Minister for Public Health. The Minister, Ms Watt, welcomes the report and recommendation which include development of a national public health strategy for Scotland which includes setting out clear priorities.

The material described in the Part 1 of the report, reflects the population health and policy analysis undertaken to ensure recommendations are made on the basis of a good understanding of public health. Part 2 of the report describe the key themes emerging from the engagement processes undertaken by the review, and the additional research evidence commissioned around the specific areas of public health leadership, partnership and workforce.
