Description
Advises health boards and primary care trusts of the new Common Services Agency unit, and of new arrangements to help them to meet the costs of anti-fraud work.
Also seeks nominations for posts of anti-fraud liaison officers within these trusts and in island health boards.
Annex A provides the roles, responsibilities and operational protocol of the Fraud Investigation Unit (FIU). Annex B covers the treatment of financial recoveries. Annex C describes the fraud investigation reporting requirements (circular 1989(GEN)3 provides guidance on the procedures to be followed in cases of suspected crimes involving public funds, and is to be revised in due course).
