Format for executive summaries of final reports

A standard format for these summaries has been introduced in order to to improve dissemination by introducing a consistent layout and making the summaries more accessible to individuals without medical or scientific training. This format will allow anyone to quickly assimilate our project grant output. The summary must be prepared from a standard template and be written in lay language.

The following documents are available to download:

Guidelines for executive summaries of final reports
Template for executive summaries
Executive summary example A (Health Services Research project)
Executive summary example B (Biomedical and Therapeutic Research project)

Please read the guidelines thoroughly prior to writing the summary. The template should be saved (either to disc or your hard drive) prior to filling in the details. If you experience any problems downloading the template, please contact Elaine Moir (NOSPAM should be deleted from the address)

Final reports that arrive at CSO with no electronic version, or without a separate executive summary in the new format, will be returned to the authors.
