Financial Performance Management and Accounting The Financial Performance Management & Accounting Team sits within the Performance Management & Finance Directorate of the Health Department. Implementation Support Group
The Implementation Support Group (ISG) has been established to support full implementation of New Deal targets and standards throughout the NHSS by working closely with trusts to help them overcome obstacles to full compliance by identifying and promoting best practice and assisting in work pattern redesign.The New Deal is an agreement reached in 1991 between representatives of training grade doctors and the UK Government aimed at improving the living and working conditions of Doctors in Training.

The Improvement and Support Team

The Improvement and Support Team works across priority areas drawn from Delivering for Health, the action plan for the NHS in Scotland and specifically from the HEAT matrix of key performance targets and supporting measures.

Scottish Patient Safety Alliance
Delivering for Health, the Scottish Executive's action plan for the future of the NHS, places great emphasis on the importance of improving the whole patient experience. Patient safety is a key element of this and is recognised as a major issue worldwide. The launch of the Scottish Patient Safety Alliance puts Scotland at the forefront of tackling this problem by implementing a patient safety programme across the whole healthcare system.

Scottish Partnership Forum
The NHS in Scotland has established an employee relations framework which is based on partnership. Including staff and their trade unions in the processes of formulating, consulting, implementing and evaluating issues related to the provision of healthcare. The basic tenet of partnership is that all staff have the right to be fully informed and consulted at the earliest possible stage, in matters relating to their working life.

Scottish Terms and Conditions Committee (STAC)
